The golden season is upon us with autumn, bringing with it a riot of colours! I enjoy nothing better than walking in the country with my dogs and seeing the trees cast aside their emerald hues to display instead a pallet of yellow, orange, red, purple and browns. It’s enough to get anyone reaching for a paintbrush - which leads me seamlessly to this years’ Worthing Portrait Artist Of The Year Competition! Woman With A beard After L.S. Lowry This painting is one of Lowry’s rare, real portraits. Autumn is drawing in and the sunlight hours are getting shorter – not ideal for an artist! The good news is that Cloud Gallery is hosting an exhibition of my artwork in November, so this will give me something to focus on. Any ideas regarding what to paint for the exhibition will be gratefully accepted, another Van Gogh perhaps, or a certain Monet. Dates and venue for the exhibition will be released soon.
